WHAT IS SLOW LIVING?
We live in a fast culture: fast food, fast money, fast cars, fast living. The faster we get, the more we look for the “easy” way out, the more short cuts that lead to dead ends we find the more anxious and uncomfortable we become with ourselves. The more we use speed to define our lives – the farther away we get from creating a grounded sense of happiness, presence and peace – a place from which all aspects of our lives can grow.
Slow Living means structuring your life around meaning, purpose and fulfillment. It emphasizes a “less is more” approach, focusing on the quality of your life. Slow Living addresses the desire to lead a more balanced life and to pursue a more holistic sense of well-being in the fullest sense.
This course will reconnect you with meaning and fulfillment as the foundations through which you structure your life. This program will support you to create “voluntary simplicity” in how you determine what is a part of your life (and what is not). You’ll actively speed down by checking in with yourself, often. We’ll emphasize a “less is more” attitude and learn practices to help focus on the quality of your life rather than the quantity of things in it. You’ll consciously address your daily needs and desires to lead a more balanced life.
From the outside, you may look like you are living a great life – but are you really present for it? Do you feel that you can slow down enough to show up for the life you are living? This course will teach you how to create a holistic sense of wellbeing that connects to all areas of your life using the Slow Living Principles of Mindfulness, Awareness and Presence.

Part II: Cultivating Mindfulness Through Fulfillment
Part III: Finding Purpose in Your Presence
Once we have established a new found awareness for the life that is unfolding before us – we can seek to cultivate mindfulness through noticing how truly fulfilling our everyday actions can be.
We have a the opportunity and also a choice to show up in each and every moment by simply giving all of our presence to what is happening – this inherently gives purpose to our lives, but being present for the moment that arises.
